Physical Abuse

Physical Abuse means harm or threatened harm to the health or welfare of a child through: Non-accidental physical injury or any other physical act that can cause injury to a child. 

 

Possible signs of physical abuse include but not limited to the following: 

  • Bruises                                     

  • Poor social skills

  • Defiance

  • Fear of adults

  • Aggression

  • Marks in the shape of an object

  • Unexplained bruises, burns or cuts

  • Destructiveness toward self or others

  • Clothing that may be inappropriate (i.e. long sleeves in summer time)
